Hello, World!
Hi, Iām Steven. I'm a software developer living in Austin, Texas. I enjoy programming in JavaScript and Python.
I am lucky enough to have arrived on the technology scene to be a part of this crazy singularity we're all now a part of. I've ventured deep into web tech, reactive OOP, data visualization, mapping, fintech, scalable cloud systems, and in recent roles I've begun to refine my engineering philosophy and management style.
At various points of my life I have been:
- A CTO cofounder of ed-tech AI startup Quinncia.
- A developer at large companies like Apple and Salesforce.
- A developer at Tripit when we won a Webby and were acquired by Concur.
- A developer at Disqus when we had 200K concurrent monthy users and 3B monthy unique requests.
- A digital nomad, working remotely from over 20 countries.
- A principal tech lead and solutions architect at Nagarro, working with Verizon, Balsam Hill, NYC Dept. of Education, Moody's, Resio payments, and Jane.com.
- Recipient of an award by the San Francisco Ethics Commission for our campaign finance data visualizations at Code for America.
Far World Labs is where I write about technology, business, and engineering.
